Change Your State: How To Use NLP To Feel Better Now

If you know anything about how to use NLP, you know that your state, your mental attitude, is hooked into physiology. You can change your state by changing how you're using your body. Read on to discover a fun exercise that will use your body to change the way you feel.
To simplify neuro linguistic programming, I'll give you an example. If you're sitting slumped in a chair with a sad expression, it's pretty tough to not to feel energized and excited. If you're sitting up straight with your shoulders back with a smile on your face, it's tough to feel depressed. Laugh and you'll feel your mood change even more.
So drawing on this, I created a goofy little neuro linguistic technique called the Peel and Bounce. I use it whenever I'm feeling the effects of a splat-some setback or disappointment or loss or rejection or failure.
The purpose of this exercise is to do exactly what it's called-you peel yourself off the windshield of your low point. You know that song, "The Bug?" Mary Chapin Carpenter and Dire Straits sing it. If you want to hear it, it's on the "Invite" page of the website I mention in the resource box below. The song says, "Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug."
So you peel yourself off that smashed bug low and change into a higher energy state by doing a bouncing leap. This puts you in the right frame of mind to move on to something better.
It goes like this:
(Yes, it looks really stupid. So if you want to do it when you're all alone, that's fine.)
1. You press yourself against a surface. You can lie on the floor or a bed or just lean against a wall like you're going to do a wall push up.
2. So you're pressed tight against a surface. Now you peel yourself off the surface with a sucking sound effect like popping loose of the surface of something.
3. As soon as you're free of the surface, you bounce. You can bounce once in one big leap or you can do a bouncing kind of dance. This works best if you have some upbeat music playing.
That's it. Yes, I know it sounds and looks goofy, but it really will change your state every time. When you discover how to use NLP like this, you can amp up your power so you can start moving from whatever setback you've just experienced to something spectacular.
